ORTHODONTICS is the branch of dentistry that moves the teeth to put in its proper place, using devices that exert forces on the teeth.
Although previously the majority of orthodontic patients were children or young people, today more and more adults decide to improve your smile and health.

The "braces" can be fixed or removable.

FIXED ORTHODONTICS

ORTHODONTICS is still known as the "brackets" and consists of a small plate attached to the teeth and attached to a thin metal arch. The brackets can be metal or ceramic (the same colour as the tooth "aesthetic brackets").
FIXED ORTHODONTICS can change very quickly the position of the teeth, which cannot be obtained with other types of orthodontics.

The alternative fixed lingual orthodontics is placed on the inside of the teeth and so it is almost invisible, but more annoying.

REMOVABLE ORTHODONTIC

REMOVABLE ORTHODONTICS is an appliance, the patient himself can apply and remove it.
The unit must remain in the patient's mouth as long as possible if he wants to get good results. The more hours a day, the patient is using the device, the shorter will be the duration of the treatment.
As the removable orthodontic is not useful in all cases, the dentist must advise the use of it.
Removable appliances, except the invisible splints, are not always suitable for adults, but maybe recommended for support after, another type of device like brackets for example.

INVISIBLE ORTHODONTICS

INVISIBLE ORTHODONTICS is a new technique that involves the application of various transparent splints, adapted to the teeth of the patient and the progressive movements that we obtained from the teeth to the ideal positioning of these. Through specific programs, it is designed to change the position of each tooth during treatment, until you get the desired positioning of each tooth.

The hygiene provided by this technique is better, because the splint can be removed for cleaning.

A big plus for this type of braces is its "invisibility", as the splints are completely transparent.
